Tony Smith is closely associated with the movement of minimalism and I can relate to the detailed and mathematical drawings that he worked on to manufacture and create each of his large scale pieces of public art. I myself have been drawing similar detailed drawings to document ideas for abstract, geometric 'structures' and it's from these that I have been able to produce some three-dimensional digital renders using Autodesk Fusion 360. My intention is to have these manufactured over at FabLab using 3D printing or constructed out of wood by myself.

“I think the volume of my work has much to do with a response to contemporary life generally.”

Tony Smith.
