The focus for my studio practice in stage 3.

Digital Green and Grey abstract hard-edge composition, created using a photo of from the top of Empire State Building NYC.

My aim for this project is to continue with my exploration and interest of ABSTRACTION and GEOMETRY, in the form and technique/s of Hard-edge painting, application of tape and sculpture. However, my initial starting point for this project will be to begin with some minimal sculpture ideas that I have been thinking about and have subsequently documented in the form of drawings. I intend to use these as reference to create some 3D constructed 'structures' which will progress my practice into the area of sculpture and also allow myself to be able to use these 'structures' as a basis and direct influence for some wall paintings based on their various angles/viewpoints.

In terms of the theory/context aspect of my practice, I will be continuing my exploration for new sources of inspiration whether it be artists' with similar ideas' and working methods or within my everyday surroundings. Whilst also looking at prior researched artists' work. I am keen to try and look at artists that work with differed mediums such as hard-edge painting, architectural photography and sculpture, as a way of trying to develop my ideas' in a different direction from previous pieces of work.

Design elements I will be looking to explore and communicate in my upcoming pieces will be: - scale, perspective, positive + negative space, line, dimension, form, contrasting coloured planes and architectural compositions.
