After taking a large number of photographs from the experimental mark making I produced using various sized brushes and India Ink, I have narrowed them down to a group of 8 images which I feel show the best cropped compositions.

When looking through the large selection of images I had taken I decided that I would determine a select few based on the way the various strokes dissected and layered each other and as a result showed a sense of depth between the marks. The inclusion of negative space also played a role when choosing, as a couple of the images only show a small group of marks but subsequently have an interesting composition due to their placement. (achieving good negative space).

My aim now is to use these images as a starting point in Photoshop, and to further develop them to a point that offers a new range of digital pieces which express vibrancy, abstraction, layering and dissection.

The images below show some more of the photographs that I took: -
